4th of July celebrations galore!! -- Kansas City newborn, child & family photographer

What's more American than fireworks, grills blazing, watermelon eating and fresh lemonade enjoyed amidst the company of oodles of friends? Even the rain couldn't put a damper on our festivities! We like to entertain.....alot. No really--in the last week we've hosted or prepared meals for people 5 out of the last 7 nights! Rain simply meant we moved the festivities indoors and celebrate we did. Lots of fun & laughs and a few good lessons learned; when waiting out a torrential downpour in your car anticipating the start of the fireworks, do NOT try to spare yourself from getting wet by taking your toddler outside to go potty. Trust me--whether you attempt acrobatic maneuvers in the car with random receptacles or run him outside to the nearest porta-potty, you'll get soaked either way. ;) I'll do you a favor and not post a picture of the aftermath of that!

decided to try my hand at capturing some images of the fireworks--it requires a totally different skill set for sure, but was lots of fun trying!
